Leads and deals

The tracking code watches the forms on your site. When a visitor who said yes to cookies fills one in, we keep the email and name they typed, and nothing else. A person who fills in two forms, or visits from two devices, shows as one lead.

Visitors who didn't say yes to cookies are still counted as visits, but they don't become leads, because we keep no contact details for them.

Open Leads under Customers in the sidebar. At the top you'll see three totals: Leads, Won and Won value. Click any of them to see the leads behind the number.

The table shows each Person, their First source, First page, when they were Captured, how many Visits they made and their Deal. Use Search name or email, or filter the Deal column by All, Open, Won or Lost.

Click a lead to open their panel.

• How they found you says where they first came from and the page they landed on, for example "First came from Google search on Oct 12, landing on /pricing."
• How we work out the source explains the rule: we look at the first visit, checking for an ad click first, then campaign tags in the link, then the site that sent them. No link and no tags counts as Direct.
• Their visits lists each visit with its date and source, the pages they read, and steps such as filling in a form or clicking a link to another site.

From a lead's panel:

1. Press Mark won.
2. Type the Value if you know it, and choose the Currency. You can leave the value empty and add it later.
3. Press Mark won to save.

Press Mark lost if the deal didn't happen. Later you can Add value, Edit value or Reopen the deal. Every change shows a toast with Undo.

To update many leads at once, tick their rows and press Mark won or Mark lost in the bar that appears. Leads marked won this way have no value until you add one from each lead.

Won value adds up the values you entered in each currency. Obelisk never converts between currencies or estimates a value.

If someone asks you to erase their data, open their panel and press Delete this person's data, then Delete forever. Their contact details, every visit we joined to them, their form fills and their deal are removed across the workspace. This can't be undone.

• Your leads will appear here: tracking isn't set up yet. Press Set up tracking.
• Waiting for your first visit: we haven't received a visit from your site yet. Press Check setup.
• No leads yet: tracking is live, but nobody has filled in a form. Press Check which fields we keep to make sure we read the right form fields.
• "Couldn't save that. Try again.": your deal change didn't save.
